I’d like to firstly introduce myself. My name is Nicole. I am 23 years old and would say I have lived a pretty standard life. I graduated from university in 2017 with a B.A in Psychology and a general idea of what I wanted to do. Strangely, I had a general idea and at the same time…I had no idea. However, I generally live my life sporadically with moments of standby/autopilot and moments of intense motivated action.
Anyways, after graduation I moved back in with my family. But soon realized that I couldn’t stand being there for longer than a weekend (especially after 4 years of university). A couple of months passed and I told myself, “Hey, move out.” So I moved back out of my hometown of San Diego, CA and back to my college town in Irvine, CA. Not the most scenic city. I know. However, this was a big step for me. I managed to pack up my stuff from home into one SUV and didn’t look back.
For the past year I’ve had a lot of “firsts”. I’ll continue to have a lot of firsts for the rest of my adult life. However, it all started with that first first step. This blog is called Adulting 101. I am not the instructor. I am simply the classmate that came in late and saw the open seat next to you. I’ll be sharing a lot of these firsts and trying to navigate the whole adult thing with you. So be prepared, it’s going to be an eternal semester.
